An Original 11 X 14 Lobby Card from the classic 1944 film noir “Double Indemnity” directed by Billy Wilder starring Fred MacMurray and Barbara Stanwyck. The plot of this film surrounds insurance salesman Walter Neff (Fred MacMurray) who has an affair with one of the wives of his clients, Phyllis Dietrichson (Barbara Stanwyck). The two of them devise a plot to kill Phyllis’ husband and run off with the money Phyllis collects from her husbands’ double indemnity accident policy. Things begin to get interesting when Barton Keyes, an insurance analyst and friend of Walter, suspects foul play. Critically acclaimed author Raymond Chandler co-wrote the screenplay with Wilder. Chandler was largely credited for the films brilliant dialogue and realism. The film was nominated in 1945 for seven Academy Awards including Best Picture. It is considered by many to be the greatest film noir picture ever made. We are pleased to be offering this beautiful “Portrait Card” of MacMurray and Stanwyck. The blondes and reds on this card are stunning to say the least and this is a wonderful example. Cards from this film set the bar as to how Lobby Card Sets should be made. Very Fine.
