An Original 8 X 10 Still from the 1979 romance-drama film “Manhattan” directed by and starring Woody Allen with supporting roles played by Diane Keaton, Mariel Hemingway and Meryl Streep.  The film surrounds a divorced, middle-aged sitcom writer who recently quit his job and is dating a high school girl.  Realizing there is no real future for them he subsequently falls in love with a journalist who dated one of his friends in college. In Woody Allen’s 2011 documentary he talks about how the success of this picture surprised him and that he offered to work at United Artists for free on their next project if they would agree to shelf the picture. “Manhattan” was widely successful at the box office and is considered Woody Allen’s landmark film to date.  There is perhaps no other film that captures the essence of New York quite like "Manhattan".  Shot entirely in black and white by renowned cinematographer Gordon Willis (“The Godfather I/II/III”), “Manhattan” pans the old-New York skyline while touring local hideaways such as Rizzoli’s Bookstore, Boating Lake in Central Park and John’s Famous Pizzeria.  None however stands out quite like the famous Queensboro Bridge scene of Woody Allen and Diane Keaton which has cemented itself as one of the most iconic images in film history.  Offered here is the best Original Still from the film showing this famous scene which was taken at 5 a.m. right behind Sutton’s Square.  This Original Still exhibits only mild handing wear which keeps it from grading any higher. Very Fine.
